The Fieldmaster-ED60DS features high-quality optics made of ED glass and includes a stunning 10:1 focuser system creating a new high level spotting scope at an affordable price.

The scope's wide versatility, 15x to 45x magnification and high-eyepoint eyepiece combined with 60mm diameter front lens element, makes it ideal for Birdwatching, long range observation and target spotting with the emphasis on top quality views with a high level of convenience and portability.

ED glass optics

The addition of ED optics in the Fieldmaster-ED ensures ultimate colour fidelity, contrast and sharpness and sets it above almost everything else on the market at this aperture. ED, short for Extra low Dispersion, are expensive to produce but reduce the so called secondary spectrum to a minimum.

Close-focus just 3m! The close focus (the closest point that the telescope will focus on) is just 3m (that's 9ft 9inches in old money) - so this is the perfect instrument for getting close-up views of your bird table diners!

Versatile rotating mount means the eyepiece is always in a position that suits you.

The scope is fully waterproof so it can be used in extreme weather conditions in perfect safety. The scope has a built-in sliding sun shade/dew shield to improve its performance when viewing into the light and protecting the front lens element of the scope `dewing up' as the temperature changes as when viewing at dawn or dusk.

Digi-scope ready

With it's ultra-light-touch high and low speed focus system the scope is ideal for digi-scoping allowing the user to take pictures with a digital camera through the eyepiece with the appropriate digital adapter (We recommend the ST9L not included).

Our comment

The Fieldmaster-ED60DS is without doubt the finest 60mm spotting scope we have ever seen under 4000 kr. The optical and mechanical build quality is very satisfying in look, feel and performance and can only be compared to scopes in the top level 4000+ kr class. It's not just the accumulation of top quality features like the large high eye-point eyepiece (making the telescope so comfortable to use) and the sliding glare shield. It's the big features that have been so well executed that really take your breath away. Like the two separate focus knobs that provide the 5:1 ratio fine and fast focus system. The knobs have a smooth high precision feel and are superb in operation. The ED optics, too, are brilliant in every way.

At Stjärnhuset our experts have seen and used a lot of scopes and as a company we don't get impressed that easily but it would be hard for us to exaggerate the quality and performance of this easily portable 60mm spotting scope - it is quite simply stunning and is, we think, the finest 60mm spotting scope we have ever seen at anything like this price.
